Well that's the question Mount Isa Theatrical Society is trying to answer with its latest play now on show each weekend until the end of the month.
In "Unnecessary Farce" directed by Robert Glanville, we follow the attempt of hapless police officers to set up a sting operation by secretly filming a dodgy mayor talking to his accountant, who is in on the secret.
It all goes haywire from there, with a cowardly security guard and an unintelligible Scottish hitman and a surprise second half plot twist adding to the fun.
The farce may be unnecessary but it's an hilarious comedy that will leave you with a smile on your dial.
This production is running every Friday and Saturday until March 28.
Unnecessary Farce is for people over the age of 16.
Tickets are $40 which includes a two course meal and can be purchased from Impulse Boutique.
