On Saturday March 28 Helen and Nigel Davis celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary with a ruby wedding solo-style due to COVID-19 restrictions.
"Originally we planned something with our kids and grand kids but that all went out the window once the restrictions came in," Ms Davis said.
"So we thought nothing was going to happen but then our kids turned up at our place with a beautiful platter, champagne and a wedding cake.
"It was an unreal surprise.
"We then thought what are we going to do, it was starting to get dark so we went straight up to the look out," she said.
Ms Davis said it was a magical moment.
"It was just the two of us and it was lovely, we sat there watching the sun go down. Nigel put his suit on and I wore a dress. Fortunately a few joggers passed by and took some photos for us but don't worry we kept our distance.
"I met Nigel when I was still in school back in England, I was 14 and he was 19. From there we were childhood sweethearts and were married when I was 16.
"After the virus is done and dusted we will do something with everyone."
