"We want to know why it's $1.26 per/litre in Townsville and as high as $1.40 and $1.50 per/litre in Mount Isa and Innisfail, but only 90 cents per/litre in Brisbane," Mr Katter said.

"I am asking the ACCC is this unconscionable conduct?"

Mr Katter says the service stations will argue they are still selling the fuel at the price they bought it for as less people are driving and filling up due to the coronavirus lockdown.

"Hold on a minute, you are doing that in Brisbane too. That's no argument and they better think up a better story than that," Mr Katter said.

"Why suddenly have we emptied the tanks in Brisbane but not in north Queensland?

"Our offices have had the phones ringing off the hook from everyday north Queenslanders who are sick of being put under the pump by the larger service stations.

"Their anger is quite justified and I will not be stopping until I get answers."
