Burke Shire CEO Clare Keenan said three staff at the Burke Shire office were stood down for nine working days for flouting the shire's strict lockdown restrictions for attending a large party, believed to be on Easter weekend.
"Worse still they flaunted the fact on social media they were hiding from police," Ms Keenan said.
"It's a very disappointing incident that three quarters of the town saw on Facebook."
She said the staffers would not lose any entitlements as a result of the stand down.
"It's a fair cop and I've spoken to the unions," she said.
"They are office staff and cannot work from home."
Ms Keenan said she told her staff they were among the lucky ones.
"Around us small businesses are closing and we are still open, paid for by ratepayers," she said.
Ms Keenan said the new Burke Shire Council would be sworn in this afternoon (Thursday April 16).
