An email with the subject "Commerce North West Quote" was distributed by Commerce North West email address, after it was accessed by scammers on July 22.
The scammers were phishing which included targeting individuals for infomation including banking and credit card detaills or passwords, while posing as a legitamate institution.
Manager Emma Harman said the email contained a PDF attachment and a Dropbox link.
"Anyone who received the email, do not click on the links and delete the email immediately," she said.
"It seems the scammers have only accessed our address books and is no more malicious than that.
"It does not install anything onto the computer, it is just hoping someone will pay them some money."
Ms Harman said if anyone had clicked on the link to see an IT specialist.
"If you have clicked on the link, then please change your email password, and it could be worth running a scan with Malwarebytes," she said.
"If you are concerned, please speak to an IT specialist to run further scans."
