A booming Cloncurry business that opened during COVID-19 lockdown has committed to building a new shop in town.

The Boundary Gate opened its doors in May, and has become a glowing success locally and nationally, specialising in home and giftwares.
The first six months of business has gone so well that owner Jen Daniels has committed to building a brand new shop in the centre of Cloncurry.
"In the next 12 months I would like to be in our new shop," Ms Daniels said.
"The new shop will predominately focus on homewares, giftwares and a range of furniture.
"While this shop has been a great testing ground for the business, we would love to have our own place and designed exactly for what we would like to achieve with the business."
Ms Daniels said the business would move from 47 Ramsay Street to a vacant block she had purchased on the corner of Scarr and King streets.
"The new premises will have a modern country feel with a high roof, open truss, big windows, copper pipes, polished flooring and white walls," she said.
"It will have a courtyard, beauty room, a small play area for kids and a herbal tea station; in conjunction with all our loved homeware products.
"The courtyard will be big enough to host some more events, like the paint night we did. I would love to have more of those.
"The beauty room will be a beautiful space for women to come and relax and have a massage or a facial."
Even though Ms Daniel's serves coffee currently at her shop, she said this was one aspect that would not carry over to the new store.
"The coffee aspect was great, it really helped draw in customers at the beginning, but now I would like to focus on the homewares and furniture aspects," she said.
"I also want to support other businesses who have since started making coffee in town, so we will remove that from our new shop.
"Making coffees does take up a lot of time and I am finding myself with less time to process and market our homewares which I love doing."
Ms Daniels the support for her business in the last six months was overwhelming.
"It has been an amazing response. We are so busy and constantly reordering products," she said.
