On the day the writs were handed down, the Premier flew to Mount Isa.
While she had no official engagements on Tuesday night other than to meet Labor supporters, she is understood to be meeting officials from Glencore and Incitec Pivot on Wednesday as mining takes centre stage,
A few weeks ago the government announced they would back the Mount Isa coipper smelter for another four years.
While the official figure has not divulged as commercial-in-confidence it is understood that the state is providing between $30-40 million which Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk says would assist the ongoing operations of the Mount Isa copper smelter, the Townsville copper refinery and manufacturer Incitec Pivot.
Labor's candidate for Traeger is James Bambrick in a seat held by Robbie Katter by a large margin.
