Round 1 is now open until Wednesday, November 11, for projects starting after Wednesday, November 18, 2020.

Council RADF Chair and Deputy Mayor Phil Barwick said anyone who has a concept or idea for any sort of art or cultural project in Mount Isa is strongly encouraged to submit their application for the program, or get in contact with Council's RADF Liaison Officer to find out more information about the application process or the best way to get their project off the ground.

"It doesn't matter how big or small the project is, we'd like for people to come forward and talk to us about it," Cr Barwick said.

"For example, individuals or arts groups that may want to do some artwork in the community or at their facility.

"We'd like to see if we can get some projects that will reflect the community and other artistic aspirations.

"The projects would need to meet the priorities of the RADF program, which are clearly outlined in the application forms.

"Because of COVID rules and regulations making things like workshops and performances more difficult to organise, we're looking for ideas for more static artworks that can be seen in the community, or something that's reflective of the community.

"Alternatively, we may also consider online classes - for example, if someone wants toconduct capacity-development training for artists.

"As well as this, if someone has something in mind for Mount Isa's 100 Years celebrations program in 2023, I would encourage people to come in and see us, as we may be able to get some foundations down for that."
