Council said its Australia Day Awards was a chance to show deserving community members you value their efforts.
Award categories include Citizen of the Year, Young Citizen of the Year, Community Event/Organisation of the Year, Senior Sports Award, Dave Watt Memorial Junior Sports Award, Sports Administrator Award, Cultural Award, four Achievement Awards and the Southern Gulf NRM Sarus Crane Award.

As well as presenting the awards at the Community Precinct from 9am to 11.30am, the day itself will feature an afternoon of cricket, musical entertainment and a barbecue from 1pm at the Showgrounds.
There will also be a dive-in movie on the evening of Monday January 25 at the pool from 6pm-8.30pm.
