The Skin Coaches, in partnership with beauty supplier DMK, are hosting a black tie ball on May 15 to raise money for six-year-old local boy Sammy Voss.
Sharon and Brendan Voss's son Sammy suffered from seizures and slow developmental growth and was diagnosed with Batten Disease (CLN2), a one-in-25-million inherited disease that primarily affects the nervous system.
CLN2 is fatal, and with constant seizuring it progressively takes away the ability of children to talk, walk and even see; however The Skin Coaches are hoping to raise some vital funds to support the Voss family through this difficult time.
Business owner Reegyn McElligott said the decision to support a local family was an easy one.
"DMK were coming out to Isa and wanted to do an event with us, so we thought it would be a nice opportunity to give back to the community.
"Instead of going an internal event at the clinic, we thought it would be nice to do a local-based charity ball and provide support to the Voss family."
Ms McElligott said planning was currently underway.
"We are hosting the black tie event at Buchanan Park on May 15 with a blue theme," she said.
"We have the capacity to host 400 guests and we will have a live band coming out, raffles, give aways and live auction.
"The Voss family will also be speaking to share their journey with us so far."
Ms McElligott said ticket prices were still being finalised, however would be available after Easter.
"Locals can purchase tickets by coming into The Skin Coaches after April 12 to purchase tables of 10 or individual tickets," she said.
"Also if anyone is looking to get involved with sponsorship or how they can support the event, get in touch with The Skin Coaches on (07) 4743 3223.
