Council was granted $895,000 for the project from the Queensland Government's Active Community Infrastructure Projects to install a state-of-the-art asphalt pump track on the southern end of the park.
Mount Isa City Council project manager Marc Miller said the Gallipoli Park project was now at procurement phase.
"We've gone out to tender for request for quotation to multiple contractors," Mr Miller said.
Mr Miller said the review date was April 8 and the selection process would take a couple of weeks after that.
"The contract would be awarded four to five weeks after that and the design phase would roughly take two months and the construction phase roughly four months after that," he said.
A pump track is a circuit of rollers, banked turns and features designed with the rider 'pumping' and generating momentum with up and down body movements, instead of pedaling or pushing. Pump tracks were originally designed for the mountain bike and BMX scenes, but they are also used by skateboard and scooter riders, and are generally accessible to wheelchairs.
Mr Miller said the pump track was a BMX track that uses momentum to get around.
"It's a newish event in Australia and a large one was recently constructed in Townsville," he said.
