Cloncurry Show treasurer Susan Curley said it has been a challenge to plan the Show with a volunteer committee as hosting a Covid Safe Event and that has forced a few adjustments to the format and a reconfigured pavilion but there will still be plenty of attractions.
"The Animal Petting Farm and Pig Races are coming to the Show and will be featured over the two days, along with Agricultural trade sites, food vendors, Retail trade sites, Information Trade Sites and of course all the Side show attractions and rides will be here," Ms Curley said.
"On Saturday night we have main event, the Demo Derby and Fireworks Spectacular."
Pavilion Section information is now available for download on the Cloncurry Show website and categories include Cooking, Art, Schoolwork, Bottles, Photography, Garden & Handicraft.
The good news is that all pavilion categories have no entry fees this year while organisers say to keep an eye out for Cattle, Beef Jerky and Sausage Sections that will be uploaded soon.
Sadly there will be no usual equestrian events taking place.
"We will hopefully have our equestrian events back next year but unfortunately the Committee is unable to host them this year due to the impact of Covid planning and event capabilities," Ms Curley said.
Ms Curley said there no showgirl competition either this year nor a Cattleman's Dinner due to the venue being unavailable but the cattle exhibitors will be there at the showgrounds.
"The Cattle Section awards will be presented during the weekend of the Cloncurry & District Show,"
Despite the enforced changes the Show will be an important weekend for the town, Ms Curley said.
"The importance of such an event now is even more essential for what it brings to our community, it is the value of belonging, interactions between community members and stakeholders," she said.
"It is how we relate as a community and why we volunteer to create an event that remains a touchstone to rural and remote lifestyles."
Patron attendance numbers for each day will be capped at 2000 and preregistration for tickets for each day will be essential with Contact Tracing will be required before entry at the gate via the Queensland Check In app.
The Show will be held Friday and Saturday June 11-12.
