According to the petition the park is a state of disrepair with petitioners saying the bins are constantly overflowing with rubbish for days while play equipment is broken and being left unattended.
They also said shade sails are broken, water bubblers are broken, water features at the waterpark are broken and soft fall flooring is ripped and becoming a huge safety hazard.
"Living in a rural area, families are already limited with activities for their young children and our parks are one of our only very few options to do with our little ones," the petition said.
"Families are unable to take their children to the surrounding parks due to how unsafe it is becoming and how filthy the area is".
The petition said something needs to be done to ensure children stop getting hurt due to "a failure of duty of care from the Mount Isa City Council".
They said complaint emails have been sent to the council with no response.
Around 140 people have signed the petition with the aim to get to 200 where it would more likely be featured in recommended petitions by change.org
Mount Isa City Council has not yet responded saying the petition has not yet been presented.
The Mount Isa Family Fun Park and surrounds has a $5.1 million funding project planned jointly funded by the Queensland Government's Building our Regions program and Council.
