The news was revealed in the local laws monthly report presented to council at its monthly meeting on Wednesday.
Council's report said the local laws rangers would begin wearing body cameras in the next couple of weeks.
"The cameras will increase the safety and security of Council officers working in the field and ensure organisational accountability," the report said.
Council said the technology will give them the capacity to investigate complaints made against field officers with clear evidence of what occurred.
The local laws rangers will also begin wearing lightweight navy shirts instead of bright yellow work shirts to cope with the camera harness and vest.
Council CEO David Keenan told the council meeting they were working out how long the data could be stored for and said that in the event of a prosecution the data would be taken off the system and stored separately.
