Mount Isa City Council's biggest event of the year, the Isa Festival, is back for 2021 and will now stretch over two days.
The Isa Festival will kick off on Tuesday, August 10, with a free concert headlined by Australian rock legend Daryl Braithwaite, whose hits include "Horses", "As the Days Go By", and "One Summer".
The concert will be held from 6pm to 9pm at the Mount Isa Rugby Union Oval, Alma Street and will also include country-rock band Luke Geiger Bareback, as well as country music star Natalie Pearson.
The night will also feature a fireworks display, licensed bar, food stalls, and slides and rides.
That will be followed by the street party in the CBD on Wednesday, August 11, from 6pm until late.
It will include the community favourite street parade which this year is themed "Country Roads and City Lights".
There will also be a Sideshow Alley, rides, food and market stalls, a beer garden, and Kids' Zone.
The beer garden will feature acoustic performances by Natalie Pearson and Luke Geiger,while the Crackup Sisters will keep everyone entertained in the Kids' Zone.
Council is now accepting applications for the Isa Festival Street Parade. People are encouraged to submit their application at www.surveymonkey.com/r/WMGP2LC.
People interested in having a food, market or information stall at the Isa Festival can now submit their registration forms.
