Cloncurry Shire Council officially appointed David Bezuidenhout as its new Chief Executive Officer at a Special Council meeting on Tuesday July 31.

Formerly from a South African cattle stud, Mr Bezuidenhout moved to Australia in 2006 and has 20 years’ experience as a legal practitioner and a master’s degree in project management as well as being a Certified Practicing Project Director and a Graduate Company Director.
Cloncurry Shire Council Mayor Greg Campbell said Mr Bezuidenhout will be joining Cloncurry Shire Council as the CEO in early September.
“He has a strong passion for rural communities and is looking forward to getting involved in the Cloncurry way of life,” Cr Campbell said.
“I believe David will be an asset to Cloncurry and his qualifications will help to deliver essential services to the community.”
Mr Bezuidenhout starts next month after finishing up his current role as Capital Projects Manager for the Gladstone Area Water Board and will relocate to Cloncurry with wife Carine ready to begin in early September.
Jo Morris has been acting CEO since former CEO Ben Milligan resigned earlier this year.
