Lothar Siebert was stood down by the Doomadgee Shire Council this week.
The director of corporate services Juanita Holden has been appointed as acting CEO.
Local traditional owners have reported a host of allegations to Local Government Minister Stirling Hinchliffe.
Mr Siebet’s public profile and contact details were immediately pulled off the council website after he was suspended.
Mr Siebert was originally recommended for the job by former Doomadgee mayor Edric Walden who is being investigated by the corruption watchdog for misconduct in public office and forgery.
Mayor Jason Ned has been contacted for comment but is travelling and out of range today.
All other councillors have been unavailable to comment.
Acting Local Government minister Yvette D’Ath said she has asked the government department to support council through the transition.
“These are matters for council and it would be inappropriate to comment,” Ms D’Ath said.
“In fact, a department representative has been in the community this week. The department is working with the council to ensure they have access to any assistance they need.”
