Organised by 2019 Isa Rodeo Queen Quest entrant Aimee Sewell who is raising funds for the PCYC, it was Christmas fun with water slides, patting of police dogs and a sausage sizzle.
Today we’ve got the army down here, we’ve the police dog squad showing their pups, we’ve got the ambulance and the firies too for a completely free event,” Ms Sewell said. “We picked up a few disadvantaged kids from Pioneer and transported them here and give them a great day out, with lots of water on a hot day, and Santa is coming with some small gifts.”
Ms Sewell said the day was not about fundraising but getting involved in the community and understanding the role of PCYC.
“Our role is crime prevention,” she said.
“If we engage positively with a lot of young people we can develop rapport and relationships to reduce crime.”
