After the success of trade day on Day 1 on Thursday the doors were thrown open to free entry for the public.
Despite a cold day in the Isa, hundreds have attended so far with many more expected until 4pm.
The view 50m up above Buchanan Park from the cradle attached to the Barkly Crane hire crane was popular with those with no fear of heights while others enjoyed the 80 exhibits inside the Entertainment Centre with another 20 stretched in the gardens outside.
MineX is open until 6pm today.
MineX opens for a final day on Saturday from 10am to 3pm with a free concert from 5pm in the Rodeo Forecourt headlined by Hurricane Fall with fireworks to finish off at 9pm.
