Following its successful debut last year, the 2019 Rodeo ball was once again held inside the Buchanan Park arena with 600 people cramming the arena Saturday night.
The ball marks the official start of Rodeo Week and is a night to celebrate the hard work and achievements of our Rodeo Queen Quest entrants.
This year's theme, Diamond Country Luxe celebratesd the Isa Rodeo's 60 year milestone and the highlight of the Bell & Moir Toyota ball was the crowning of our Rodeo Queen and Charity Queen.
There were an incredible seven hard working entrants in this year's Queen Quest who between them raised $323,000, easily a record for the most amount of money raised by the event.
Aimee Sewell who raised raised $80,174 for the Mount Isa PCYC took out the Queen Quest honour. but congratulated her fellow entrants.
"We've experienced such a wonderful journey together and thank you for all your support and encouragement," Ms Sewell said.
"Congratulations to you all because today your charities are in a better position than they were yesterday."
Ms Sewell said the competition was an opportunity to share her passion about keeping kids safe. "Access is a major barrier and the funds we raise will be used for transportation," she said.

Bell & Moir's Lee Pulman introduced the new Charity Queen as a "young lady who did very well" but it proved to be the Quest's second ever male entry, Tony "Tonka" Toholke who raised $101,846 for This is a Conversation Starter Foundation. The Spirit of Queen Quest winner was Kellie Pigliafiori who raised $18,799 for the RFDS.
The others were: Allison Nicholson who raised $7889 for the Mount Isa Community Ensembles Inc, Bron Myers who raised $42,329 for the Mount Isa Base Hospital Auxiliary Inc Cancer Care Unit, Kat Ufer who raised $40,043 for the SES Mount Isa Group, and Kate Lovett who raised $32,506 for the North West Queensland Mental Health Network.
The Isa Rodeo Queen and Isa Rodeo Charity Queen will become Rodeo Ambassadors for this year's event which starts Thursday.
