After three and a half years as a Cloncurry Shire Council Councillor, Brad Rix and his family have relocated to the Gold Coast.
At an ordinary council meeting on 17 September, Council received the formal resignation of Councillor Brad Rix.
Council chose not to adopt the recommendation presented to the meeting regarding Councillor Rix's position, and therefore his position will remain unfilled for the remainder of the term.
Cloncurry Shire Council Staff, Councillors and Mayor wish Brad, Heidi, Vin and Cleo all the best for the future.
Remaining in office will be mayor Greg Campbell and three councillors Vicky Campbell, Dane Swalling and Damien McGee.
The possible expansion Cloncurry Shire Council from four councillors to six remains deferred by the Electoral Commission of Queensland, despite local and state government pushing for it to be implemented before the 2020 election.
The next local government election will be held in March 2020.
