The $2.06m project was sought after by Cloncurry Shire Council to improve resilience of the town and liveability by incorporating it with the Cloncurry Swimming Pool complex.
Cloncurry Shire Council mayor Greg Campbell said construction had been a little slow due to a number of factors.
"Construction had been a little bit slow, due to really hot conditions we had before Christmas and wet conditions recently, so the contractor has been battling through," Cr Campbell said.
"However the frame of the waterpark is done, the splash pad has now been painted, the toilet block that will service the pool and the park is almost complete and the pumps are on their way.
"So the contractors have been managing well and are committed to having it completed by mid-March, so it will still be hot and plenty of time for people to enjoy it. "
Cr Campbell said the project aimed to transform a civic space to attract visitors and create a space where community can come together, enhancing community pride and identity.
"Features include improved green space, new amenities, BBQs, water park/splash pad - located inside and outside of the swimming pool area, playground, skate furniture, civic stage and a series of Arbor structures that will tell the story of Cloncurry's history and key landmarks.
"Also the pool will close over winter as there are some major refurbishment works we need to do on the pool itself."
The Florence Clark Park upgrade was funded by federal, private and Council contribution.
