Big Red Bash organisers will make a decision on July 1 about whether to refund tickets from Victorians, just five days out from the start of the music festival near Birdsville.

Big Red Bash organiser Greg Donovan said if the borders are still closed at that time they will reissue tickets for the coming years for any Victorians unable to make the July 6-8 event.
With around a quarter of the 10,000 sell-out crowd coming from Victoria, the decision is expected cost $1.2 million in future ticket sales.
Mr Donovan said the Big Red Bash would go ahead as planned and anyone unable to attend due to border restrictions could attend in 2022 or 2023, but there would be no refunds as the event was going ahead.
"If we were to provide refunds and not have enough money to put the event on, the event wouldn't go ahead," Mr Donovan said.
Victorians on the Big Red Bash social media pages say if a decision is not made until July 1 it does not give them much time to get to the Simpson Desert site and they will be reliant on several border quarantine restrictions to be lifted.
Paul Kelly who was due to play the cancelled 2020 festival, will headline the three-day festival bill along with Tim Finn, John Williamson, Kate Ceberano, Ian Moss,and others.
