Eight-year-old PD Razor alongside his handler, Sergeant Chris McMahon has spent his career working in the Logan and Mount Isa Districts, whilst also completing relieving stints in Toowoomba and Ipswich.
It was a family affair for PD Razor, with his father and three brothers also police dogs with great careers.
Throughout his career PD Razor has located hundreds of offenders, assisted with searches of missing persons and won the hearts of countless children on his many school visits.
Two-year-old PD Vince is the newest recruit to the Mount Isa Police and comes from good genes; his father PD Fantom is a current serving police dog protecting the streets of Logan.
PD Vince recently finished his 12-week training at the Oxley Police Academy and has moved to Mount Isa to be with Sergeant McMahon.
In his first week, PD Vince and Sergeant McMahon tracked and located six offenders from a stolen vehicle.
PD Vince performed extremely well tracking for several kilometres through thick bushland and across a creek crossing.
Sergeant McMahon said PD Vince's work ethic was outstanding.
"He is learning the unique working environment out here very quickly," he said.
Mount Isa Police District welcome PD Vince to the family and wish PD Razor all the best for his retirement.
