And so while the actual Cloncurry Show has been cancelled for 2020 due to the pandemic, Cloncurry and District Show Society have come up with a way for local efforts to be recognised.
From June 8 to 13 the Society will host an online version of the Show with senior sections that include gardening, cooking, photography, equine, art, handicraft, poultry, bottles and they are awaiting confirmation on the cattle section.
Children won't be left out and there are junior sections in cooking, pets, writing, drawing/painting, gardening, craft and photography.
The CDSS committee said the visual show would take place on its social media platforms and website during its actual Show week.
"The committee are reshaping the sections for this year only and as we are restricted with how we can judge entries we are keeping it to visual judging only," the committee said.
"To make it more interactive during the planned week we are going to have a few people's choice awards for some of the sections where the public can vote online for their favourite entry."
Just like in the real show there will be ribbons for first, second and third as well as highly commended awards but this year there will be no fee to enter into competition, but a limit of three entries per person per class.
So far the CDSS says for the cooking section there will be three classes (best decorated cake, best decorated biscuits, best decorated cupcake) and there are two classes for pets (best dressed and best trick).
Entries can be submitted via video clip or picture with more details to come including section information and due dates.
"We are excited to present our show to you," the committee said.
"It's in a different format but hey, we get to do something together and we get to see what our community can make, perform and create."
